what is the shintaido?

Shintaido (means new body way) is a martial art created in the sixties in Japan, by Master Aoki and a group of Karate shotokai practitioners (Master Egami way). On Wikipedia you can find complete information in english, french ... The best to know what it is, is to try it ! there are group in many country (Japan, USA, France, England, Germany, Italy ....). The first sequence shows 'yon hon kumibo' which is a sequence of four fairly basic bo moves with a parter. Then follows 2 kata called 'hino kata' (kata of fire) and 'kazeno kata' (kata of wind). Each is demonstrated twice, starting right side then left side. These are the first 2 kata that Shintaido students can expect to learn with the bo.

i have trained in aikido. shintaido seems more fluid and not as robotic as aikido. could this be the holy grail of ai-ki?
