1996 4.3 S10 Flowmaster 40 and no cat

Same muffler as before (Flowmaster 40) but the cat clogged and I decided to just get rid of the stupid thing altogether. Now with a straight pipe. Doesn't really sound a whole lot different, just louder and more muscle-y. Interestingly, removing the cat did NOT set a check engine light like I expected. No codes at all. I'm pleased. It also brought back all my lost power and then some.

@supersanchez1991 Nope, no problems. On mine it didn't even throw a check engine light, but that may not always be the case on every truck.

How did you know your cats were clogged?

Well on mine, the acceleration was really sluggish and I couldn't trace it to anything else.

I did the same to my 95 Blazer, and wow there was a difference lol
