Same muffler as before (Flowmaster 40) but the cat clogged and I decided to just get rid of the stupid thing altogether. Now with a straight pipe. Doesn't really sound a whole lot different, just louder and more muscle-y. Interestingly, removing the cat did NOT set a check engine light like I expected. No codes at all. I'm pleased. It also brought back all my lost power and then some.

  • have you had any problems since you remove the catalytic converter? i just took my out today

  • @supersanchez1991 Nope, no problems. On mine it didn't even throw a check engine light, but that may not always be the case on every truck.

  • How did you know your cats were clogged?

  • Well on mine, the acceleration was really sluggish and I couldn't trace it to anything else.
