Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7/ZS3 HD sample videos [2/3]

Since I have found some more sample videos I present to you part 2 of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 sample video coverage. This is mainly because the TZ7 was released in Japan early March 2009 so Japanese reviews are slowly coming out for this camera whichs means new sample videos are made available to the public.

I'm really interested in this new Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 hybrid camera myself and when it hits the stores in March/April 2009 (Europe/America) I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one (going to wait for some English reviews first though but from what I have read and seen so far all indicates this new TZ camera is going to be another winner for Panasonic).

Because the TZ7 can and will be used as a videocamera as well (it will replace my old Sony DCR-HC40 Mini DV camcorder) I'm searching the internet for sample videos to see what the quality is like. In this second video you will see what I have found so far and again they look (and sound) pretty impressive!

Remember that the videos in this clip are not made by me, I just edited them into one video. Also, they have not been altered in any way (except encoding them to WMV format for uploading to YouTube). What you see is the raw footage from a (probably) Japanese retail unit since these samples were part of a Japanese review and since the TZ7 is already released in Japan it's fair to assume they made use of a retail unit for their review.

Ps. I know the TZ7 is called ZS3 in the US but since TZ7 is the real organic name for this camera (in Japan as well and well, that's where they make it) I refuse to call it something else. Why they called it ZS3 in the US beats me, because the predecessor TZ5 was also called TZ5 in the US (and the rest of the world). Stupid move Panasonic, using different model names will only confuse people.

ic how do u change the bitrate settings?

If you use AVCHD Lite to record your videos you're already recording in 720p which is the highest resolution on this camera. You can then set the quality to L, H or SH with SH being the highest bitrate setting at 17 mbps.

what format are you recording at....i just got this camera and everything i record doesnt look clear at all.....

The videos were recorded in AVCHD Lite format. Probably in the highest bitrate setting, I'm not sure because I didn't record the videos.

the format AVCHD lite is a real pain to work with in windows aAVCHD Normal is not bad but when you see lite on the end beware most editing software won't touch it.
