Dr. Gary Slutkin, a specialist in internal medicine and infectious disease control, spends much of his time treating a different kind of disease that is spreading through our inner cities: gang violence. His innovative approach -- called "Ceasefire" -- focuses on the importance of community involvement in addressing urban violence, and the results have been remarkable. This short film by fbi productions, profiling his story, premiered at the Fourth Annual Volvo for life Awards ceremony in New York in April 2006.
