When you were flying low over the water did you look back to see if the prop blast was making waves on the ponds? Dale

I have 600 hrs in all kinds of PPC's. U Say never let your wheels (touch) anything U don't want to land on. If U R about to touch, its already to late. I teach, don't fly over antthing U dont want to land on and if U do. Have enough elevation to clear it. I or none of my students have ever been hurt. I also have them make 6 power out landing, so they have confidents and do not panic when it really happens. Some BFI's don't. What R their students going to do when it happens.

so is it ok for PPCs to just let the wheels skim 12inches off the water surface or off of any flat surface?

Good question Dale. When I fly that low I guess I never look back. I have my right hand on the throttle, my left hand on the camera, my feet on the rudders, and my eyes looking straight ahead, so I don't hit the water and reck my camera. lol.
