Fair enough :)
In one way you're right, of course. Not only is it not guaranteed that 14 will be better, it's actually -impossible- for it to be better because "better" is a subjective judgement after all. I'm sure there will be people who will claim 14 is not as good as 11. But I really think that if a fan of 11 gives 14 a fair chance, not carrying any preconceived notions from 11, but giving it a fresh look instead, just like they did with 11 before, they will like it.

Not alot is known* Sorry I got ahead of myself a little there

@paerarru I'll have to agree, as well as disagree. While its true not alot about XIV, however, its not gaurenteed to be "Better" then FFXI. Theres no doubt in my mind that some will say its better, others'll say it sucks and FFXI is better. So It really will come down to player preferences. In any case, I do want to try FFXIV hence why I signed up for the Beta test recently, so only time will tell :)

WhitemageSerenia, it only looks like 14 won't be as much fun as 11 right now, because you're weighing what little there is to see of 14 against the huge amount of great content 11 has... Of course it's not gonna look half as good! But you have to "look between the lines", so to speak, and imagine what the whole world is gonna be like, not just the one area, two mobs and ten animations we've seen. Do that and it becomes obvious 14 will be so much better than 11, which is already a great game!

As long as group-based, challenging, and deep gameplay is in FFXIV, I'll be there.
Can't wait.

I wouldn't say its for the best. I know I'm not alone when I say there will still be people who will still prefer and continue to support FFXI. I know XIV is still in alpha and isn't close to being completed, but honestly, based on what we know about it so far, I am not liking what I'm seeing. It feels like something I'd pick up and play for maybe a month, put it down, and return to Vana'diel. My point is, to each their own

Wii hardware sucks, but it's an inspiration for what we could see if more powerful systems actually implemented motion control into their systems. I personally love the feeling of motion control.

.... it's in Alpha at thr momment, not even close of the finished product

"Not that it sucks or anything"
...but it sucks.
Wii hardware is weak.
What are you talking about man... new class system based on your weapons it's like tactics imo.. that's new, graphics are amazing yet again breaking the standard MMO theme of horrible graphics, pretty sure they made it a lot more soloable now which is what everyone who played FFXI wanted.. a lot has changed and it's all for the best.

The Wii could not handle a game like this. Not that it sucks or anything (next step into Virtual Reality :D).
