its a light source of some kind. it changes shape and direction consistant with a light source eminating from somewhere between the camera position and to the right of the frame. Every surface it moves over changes its shape, speed and movement accordingly.
As someone who works with CGI I deal with this all the time when moving light sources around.
of course I could be wrong but it looks very familiar.
I'm kinda insulted these people think audiences would fall for such a cheap trick

no dickheads its not dust it's a flash light, you can see the light when it passes the wooden beam at 0:27 it clearly bends... its just simply someone running a flash light down the wall..

What makes Ghost Hunters the most popular show of it's kind on television? Maybe it's all the "proof" they get. Imagine the odds of catching an apparition on camera. Would the camera even work properly in the presence of one. TAPS needs it's T.V. show to have some credibility so, ironically, they give it less by faking encounters, misrepresenting footage, and misinterpreting "evidence".
