@rnantista where did you get your information from, id like a source, cowboy comes from the word cowhand, and it referred to the men who ran cattle drives to dodge city kansas from texas. It didn't have to do with race as it was pretty much an equal distribution of white men, mexican vaqueros, native americans and african freedmen. They were also called wranglers and ranch hands.
