Many simmers who are new to Flight Simulator (or X-Plane) want tips on how to improve their landings. I want to display and guide you, the viewer through one of the most overseen factors in a good, smooth landing: The FLARE.

I have seen many videos on the net (here and elsewhere), where flaring is simply overdone, which can ruin the outcome of a initially good landing.

  • Anyone can make a perfect landing, a few thousand feet of runway. Try putting it down somewhere near the touchdown markers for starters, that's what they are there for. Then get a cross wind in there, and set the RVR to 1600ft, oh try it in a real plane and then you might have something to talk about.

  • @flyinrhino1991 I'm sorry, I've tried but I seem to be too stupid to do any of the things you wrote. Could you be so kind and show me how its done? Oh and I only have a B748 scale model, is that good enough? /sarcasm

    Seriously, if you find my video lacking, fine. Make your own, and do it better. Show us how its done. Constructive criticism is always welcome here. But if you're here to just troll and show off, then get another video, because that will get you blocked here.

  • I wsaw a couple of times the reverse thrust was too early. No reverse until a roll is established and the brakes are working because if something is wrong you need to be able too apply full power right at that moment instead of waiting for whatever reverse system on the aircraft to diengage.

  • @913861 I stand corrected! That makes perfect sense. Thank you for the clarification! :-)

  • 0:06 because the PAPI is actually indicating that your point of view is high, if you try to lower the view the lights will be correct ;) ( in this case point of view-aircraft-papi would be in the same direction ;)

    cheers =)

  • @jonji260280 Yep, that's right!

  • @NBGZerO Sorry for being a sarcastic troll, I'll make it more constructive this time. Sadly I lack the time, money, or the equipment for that lol... to much time doing the real thing. But hey it's only it's just a bit more challenging and what exactly do you know about landing planes? Maybe you should hit the books, call up the local FBO and try it!

  • flaring is to pitch up nose angle slightly above the rnway to hold and altitude

    for smoother landing

  • its not flaring at all

  • Nice tuttor!!!!!!!!!!

  • good one

  • flared to high on every one
