The Kitchen Hideaway is a virtual reality concept that allows the inhabitants of a communal building to imagine being in a kitchen, preparing a particular meal rather than having to actually do this for themselves. The thoughts of the user are then transmitted to robotic chefs within the building who then prepare the visualised meal in a real kitchen and with real ingredients. In effect, the headset replaces the need for kitchen appliances in individual dwellings, saving space through creative thinking.

  • @DEATHBYFLYINGCDS Unlike you some people cant cook. my older bro cant even cook toast with out seting fire to it.. Unlike me i can cook pertty good & i see this as a tool in the kitchen as 2nd helping hand.

  • @GayBoyRunning How would a device that allows someone to remotely cook something, help someone who can't cook?

  • @DEATHBYFLYINGCDS Tho you need to take into count that this Invention was mainy design for people that can not cook, dont like cooking & dont have the time to cook.

  • @GayBoyRunning Yes but that is mass producing the same thing over and over again. This is a concept that would allow every single person on earth to make their own individualized food. Its like a food printer except less efficient, and everyone would be using it around the same time, and uses a much larger varety of "inks" so to speak. can you imagine how horribly that would work out? The only way for that to work would to limit what people can eat, and that would just end up being a dystopia.

  • @DEATHBYFLYINGCDS ingredients? Well yes you do need them to make tasty meals & such. Tho the robot thing? Well thats already happaning today mostly all food manufacturing plants use robots & machines to mix & produce food products from ingredients & also ingredients needed are deliver to the plant or factory & are stored in massive storage facilities with in the plant/factory. So your Idea of it this not happaning, well im sorry to burst your bubble :)

  • Some of the people ripping of this video are people that need to be put down cause there as pointless & usless then anything else -_-

  • @SirHacker13 How does anyone get ingredients? You buy them of course. If someday they can make a system such as this, surely they can come up with a robo-virtual system that lets you shop for ingredients and then delivers them to your home. Frankly I think it would be far more efficient that way.

  • @DEATHBYFLYINGCDS yes but what if you dont have the ingredienst

  • Well this is stupid, cooking a virtual meal just so you can wait for awhile after that for the meal to be delivered. All the work+ waiting for delivery-the smells and sensations from cooking it in person=a future I'd never want to happen. I'd much rather cook it in person myself.

  • Quite revolutionary............and the gutsiest! The line between reality and virtuality is already so blurred today. I wouldn’t be surprised if systems such as this existed in 2050.
