This cleaner was born out of spare parts. I had a 1070 Convertible in beautiful shape with a bad motor, and a Decade 80 with a cracked base and broken fan.
So I went to work...
I put the Decade 80 motor in the 1070, using the metal fan, and wiring the new motor into the speed switch of the old. Then I added a 4-brush agitator, with a little twist. Two white and two black brushes.
The result was a cleaner I love using, and it has been used as a daily driver on and off for the better part of 5 years now.
Last year I swapped out the Hoover metal agitator for a CWP wood core brush roll. It made the cleaner smoother and even more quiet.
Its cleaning performance is spectacular!
