@Unclesamslair I agree. You can't go on a spending spree, like the U.S.A has done, and then cut taxes. We should have avoided that spending spree and then cut taxes.

fuck this man, i hate him and his poorscrewing tax cuts. those he cut taxes on do not work. his tax cuts did not work. bush is bullshitting like crazy on this bullshit video. bush destroyed economic vitality. yep, bush hates those of us who really do work. he has contempt for us who make the lowest incomes. if anyone is a bum it is the millionaires that are accostumed to a cushie life.

Apparently you didn't fully read the comment. The bottom 50% of wage-earners pay virtually NO income taxes. So the notion that the poor have to choose between paying their taxes and eating is a complete farce because the poor don't pay any taxes. Again, the top 1% currently pay for a whopping 40% of the federal tax burden (this figure has INCREASED since Bush's tax cuts, so you should be thanking him). How much higher do you want their burden to be? Please tell me.

Maybe I should stop paying my taxes then and become another one of these meaningless numbers? These are not facts, they are statistics. While "the top 1%" as you put it will continue to eat caviar and drink champagne, for some people it is a choice between paying taxes and having enough to eat. Just a thought.

But the obscenely rich elitist assholes you speak of already pay all of the taxes. According to the IRS, the top 1% of wage-earners pay 40% of the burden (while only earning 22% of the country's income), the top 5% pay 37%, the top 25% pay 68%, and the top 50% pay 97%. In other words, the bottom half of workers pay virtually no income taxes. It's impossible to cut their taxes because they don't pay any. Facts are stubborn things.
