  • In my opinion in Southern Rock there's The Allman Brothers Style and then there's the Skynyrd style. All Southern Rock has to be influenced by these two sounds or by the influences that made these sounds, therefore I dont get how this or Kings of Leon are considered Southern Rock at all. Long live the real stuff!

  • Fair opinion but Southern Rock encompasses a whole range of musical genres, at the core is Rock but surrounding it there are several different genres such as Blues, Country, Country-Rock, Rock 'n' Roll, Heavy Rock etc, DBT's work includes many different styles of Southern Rock, for instance some of their earlier stuff had a Country-Rock vibe, later on there was a more pure Southern Rock sound and even more recently they have been mixing up several genres.........

  • .........Shonnas voice also brings a new dimension to their music and their lyrics are much more 'Southernfied' than possibly any other band past, present or future.

    Happy Listening.

  • Hey guys- i love southern rock, but i dont get that "flag racism thing" ... Can someone of you tell me plz. ?

  • Hi there, have just found a couple of websites for you which explain in more detail what the flag shown in this video is really about, I'll send you a message with the links seeing as youtube mods make it very difficult to post links. In short it never has represented racism nor slavery:

Hope I've been of some help and thanks for watching this video I'll make sure to check out yours.

    Enjoy.

  • im not from the south, not from the north, def not from the lame ass east, im from the west and i love it, but nothing beats the sweet sound of southern rock

  • the rebel flag does not necessarily stand for racism, at the start of the cival war, only 6% of southerners had slaves, what were the other 94% fighting for? ha it stands for taking a change that nedd be,and standing up for what you believe in,which is exactly what the greatest band to ever grace a stage did, resat in peace freebirds you will forever be missed, as ronnie would say! "turn it up!" hahaa

    lynyrd skynyrd for life

    rebel for life

  • @Guitarjammer86 its simple, the stupid clan and the white supremiscists have adopted and turned what IS a symbol of the great southern tradition and used it to incite fear and violence.same way the Nazis used the navajo indian's swastika- and to me, the same way homosexuals have adopted the "rainbow", it's called propaganda-and people are so fucking stupid they fall for it every time.thats why obama got elected to the most powerful offfice on the planet-well, it used to be-

  • Hi all, really good music, i have found it through lucero.. best wishes from the not so southern Hungary

  • The DBT's embody southern rock from a lyrical standpoint, the evoke images of Charlie Daniels Wooly Swamp, Skynyrds That Smell and Give me back my bullets and more all from a lyrical standpoint. Musically they've used the punk uprising in the South has been hip over the last 10-15 years musically and injected it into their own compositions. You really can't find a band that plays up the Rock and Roll shtick while still maintaining integrity lyrically and musically..

W/O Isbell, its not the same

  • Cool song.

  • Why do so many people want to label things - like these guys - southern rock, alt. country, cowpunk, to name a few?? More often than not, good is good and defies labeling. Their point of origin can explain some of their influences, but other than that, who knows? "The DBTs" is good enough. Take 'em at face value.

  • @Martiluk1

Southern rock is a big genre man. And then there's southern metal on top of that.

  • @Martiluk1 I love Kings of Leon, but to put them in the category of southern rock is way off , which I also love, sober up man!

  • @rebel2010hunter , Heritige not hatred!
