  • I live in a country where we have almost no light on the streets at nights. Will this light work for me? What do you recomend?

    Thanks!!!!

  • I have the same rear light, very durable, but how many lumens is the headlight?Everything I have found that is bicyce specific is not NEARLY bright enough.I found a DIY mount for a small flashlight($3) and bought a 144 lumen mini flashlight for $25 and it is SUPER BRIGHT!!! More than enough, the mount is rock solid and its so bright I have had cars flash their lights at me before :) Instructions or details on light email me,thanks.

  • TBH I only cycle down roads with streetlights so haven't tried it in the 'real' dark. I would worry that even if it does light up the road reasonably well, if it's pointing at the road it's not pointing in the eyes of the driver who's about to pull out in front of me. Personally I think you probably have to spend more than £20 if you want to cycle safely down unlit roads, but I might be wrong.

  • so not so much for getting even some ok light on the path ahead of you?

  • thanks!

  • The original batteries ran out yesterday morning; didn't last quite as long as I expected them to, but then I use it on 2 steady + 2 flashing. Feel relatively safe with it on, and highly recommend it as a commuter light (ie. on lit roads so you don't need it to illuminate where you're going).

  • that helps. thx.

  • Well I bought one (with Mars tail light, for £20 from Merlin Cycles) and I'm very impressed with the quality - definitely up with Cateye. Seems like a bargain, but not yet tried it on a dark morning.

  • useful, thanks
