I agree. It depends on the venue. I don't know where this was, but hardcore shows were basically in dingy places without security or barriers. It wasn't mainstream music, nor were these artists powerful or important. I went to a show when everyone jumped on stage a few months back, its just that the band didn't merit protection, and the Misfits certainly didn't. Underground music has this perk.
