Cover of Tom Sawyer by Rush. string snaps on last note of solo. Moving Pictures Album. Great song.
not sure of the name of the chords( had to look them up) , but the main riff in order goes like this:: OPENING CHORD - - - E - - -Asus4/E- - - A7sus4/E- - - Gsus4/D x2 Cadd9, G/B, A7sus4, Cadd9, G/B, A7sus4
- - -E, E(SAME SHAPE AS AN D BUT 4TH FRET) -Esus4
- - - Asus4/E ---Am6/E- - -A7sus4/E - D/E - A7sus4/E
Cadd9, G/B, A7sus4, Cadd9, G/B, A7sus4

Thats the main riff the rest is quite easy to follow , if you need more info let me know

  • @sevenismagicman yes you right, I do try and do it but it's lost in my guitar sound.

  • @vferraro. thanks... i just had the song on ipod playing through surround sound.....

  • I have changed the title to save any more confusion. The chords that are played are in the description part of the page... Hope this helps

  • @wedor0907 well spotted... :o) I am not really Alex Lifeson.... He uses Hughes & Kettner amps, when clearly I use a Park by Marshall....

  • Ps... Tosser

  • I suppose you are right thanks for the feed back.... I must try harder.. Sorry you did not find it informative....

  • fantastic.....superb

  • Nice job! U need to crank your guitar louder tho.

    cheers!

  • now, on the "catch the witness, catch the wit..." part, isn't there an open string ringing? this was a signature technique by alex lifeson.

  • Nice job. What are you using to play the actual Rush song while you play the cover?

  • Haing the high E snap sucks...

    Having the low E snap sucks harder.

  • Like the other people say. Not much of a lesson but I might be able to figure it out if I pause an look hard lol. Well done though
