cost of living is really cheap

no rent...

Hey man great video. :) I've been thinking about doing this after I get out of college, but I'm still debating where I want to teach abroad. I originally thought Japan which is the usual choice I'd say for people in general. Uhh. But Jeju Island is a vacation spot, is it still ok living there with all the tourists? Well technically you are "kind of" a tourist lol. But you know what I mean.. Take care, and good luck! :)

you'd hardly ever notice a tourist unless you live near a resort on the south side japan would be fun with the economy now, i'd do some up-to-date research on the money side for example, korea was, by far, the best place to work money-wise but now, with the exchange rate, i don't know another fun resort place would be Okinawa, Japan it's gets cold here in the winter which last 5 months but june-october is Great!

Teaching English in Korea is not necessarily cool. There is a strong chance you can get screwed over by your employer, and the government won't care. Now, mind you, if you have a good employer like he did, they will pay you every month and on time. You can save a lot of money as he said. It's better to work for a public school. The salary is more like 2.2 million won starting, I would say right now if not more. I have not checked lately.

Hey BodhiOceans thanks for posting this video. I'm heading off to Jeju-do in a month or so to teach and it's great to hear about the experiences that other G.E.T.s have been having.

I'm glad there's no weed there (hate the stuff), it definitely sounds like a nice place to be. How did you find the local level of spoken English? Is it a big barrier to communication or are most people fluent enough to be comprehensible?
