Got the rest of my HID kit from SharpHID.com. Low beam kit is 35W 8000K, High beam is 55W 8000K. I have my headlights aimed so that they are NOT in oncoming drivers eyes, something everyone who installs a kit should do. Most people just blind everyone else.

Its somewhat hard to tell the dramatic difference because this was in my yard, but the 55w highs put out almost double the light output of the 35w lows.

  • stock headlights?

  • @DizNBoiAz

Stock 97 Eclipse headlights, yes. For whatever reason, 97-99 headlights have a better cutoff than 95-96 headlights on Eclipses.

  • Right. Which is why I have my headlights aimed significantly farther down than should be aimed to keep them out of peoples eyes. Going on 2 years of driving with these and the high beams installed, have not been pulled over or high beam flashed ONCE. I must be doing something right.

  • What happens if you do NOT buy them seprately. Lets say i bought and installed a 35w 8000k.. Would my highs have any effect?

You mean if you bought an HID kit with BI-Xenons (high and low)? Then you would just have one bulb in the low beam housing. But it probably wouldnt work too well because of the design of 9006 housings.

  • hids are cool... but it's dangerous and annoying when the idiot coming the other way DOES NOT HAVE PROPER CUT OFF... light's shooting everywhere!!!

  • did you have to drill a hole so that the HID wiring could go through the plastic cover on the back of the head light?
