  • The critical snowball of this films just keeps getting bigger. All sophistication and no substance. A sermon approx. 3 hrs. long. Don't expect to learn a single scientific fact. Your knowledge of life on earth will be greatly insulted. It is sure to leave a bad taste in your mouth, if you are a thinking being.

  • Insult anyone rational, intelligent or intellectual and they will no it, at the speed of light. When will J.C. apologize for his insensitivity?

  • @SamHain1031666 Although I can understand why you didn't like Avatar even though i did what I disagree with is that thing you said about films being judged solely on story and acting. Now that is missing a lot of the point of films I think. Visuals are equally as important and so is sound, music, cinematography, art direction, costumes, makeup, editing, etc.

  • I cant beleive Mark Kermode liked Avatar, it was bloody boring. It is hard not to be impressed by such an amazing looking movie, but a film should be judged souly on its story and acting and Avatar is just too predictable to entertain me. I fell asleep the first time i saw it and when i saw it the second time i only just managed to watch it all, if it was 10 minutes lobger id have fallen asleep again. Its just one of those movies where you couldnt give a shit how it ends, you just want it to end

  • @jacksonofalltrades All three of those films are shit... not critically acclaimed.

  • The movie isn't bad, but it doesn't deserve any of the hype. Terminator, Terminator 2, Aliens and even Titanic are superior movies to Avatar.

  • A three-hour interspecies romance based on Disney's Pocahontas, with a script co-written by Noam Chomsky.

    Enticing.

  • SIMON MAYO IS A COCK

  • @empyblessing

If the story was silly then pocahontas, fern gully, and dancing with wolves wouldn't be critically acclaimed movies. The story isn't silly it's just so familiar to us that it seems overused or simple but like you said that's not the point.

  • @LessAmused

Do u usually learn scientific facts from sci fi movies? What did u learn from star-wars? Avatar is based much more on reality than most sci-fi type things, cameron actually has explanations for everything. The exact evolution of the species is explained and there are just tons of things that line up. Lower gravity = larger life forms for example. he chose not to break the laws of physics and based the space ship on an actual plan that runs on antimatter fission and travels at

  • the film was far to long and 3d glasses are so painful i wear glasses but i took contacts in to the film the glasses hurt after 30 mins
