This video was taken on 12/22/08 in the morning outside of Perdido Pass. The wind was blowing a solid 20-25 kts. out of the ENE. We ran about 6-7 miles offshore and back. Since video do not do sea conditions any justice I will let you decide on your own. Speeds are anywhere from 47 mph to 65 mph

  • That was a scarey ride! Lite overpowered boat one small rogue wave and SEA YA!!

  • 18000 lbs in the video. A rogue wave would make for a nice bark of all 4 of the props.

  • 1.1 mpg at 60 mph., 1.4 mpg at 50 mph. 0.8 mpg at 80 mph, and 4 mpg at 6 mph

  • 20-25 knot winds with not whitecaps nor is the spray getting blown across the wake? might want to reconsider the windspeed posted

  • That was a head sea with a slight port quarter. Take a look at the spray coming off the port side as well as the rooster tail itself once it clears the boats cover. To be honest I checked the winds at the nearby buoy and they were a sustained 25 knots when the video was taken. The seas had not built that distance from shore, but it was 3.5-4' at 3-4 seconds. I'll be the first to admit that digital cameras do not capture video very well at high speeds, especially from inside the boat.

  • is this optimax?

  • Yes, 300 optimax 3.2 L strokers

  • @41hatt do you know if the johnson or evinrude v-8 4oo hp outboards are available for this application, i really used to admire the big v8 outboards by johnson

  • for real..wow what a great fuel efficiency on these boat wow.i feel like throwing my edgewater388 away.i do 0.8 at 30mph :(

  • Do you still have the boat?

  • LOL winter chop. That looks like the weather window we wait for weeks to be able to head to the edge in NJ. Florida guys no nothing of weather find me a buoy report of 8-12 not hurricane related in the last year. Shit our hudson canyon buoy recorded 26 days of 10 plus and was then destroyed in a noreaster. You would be at the dock watching the downeasters and sportfishes leave where Im from.

  • @41hatt it gets good mileage

  • Prop did you sell this boat yet? AND IF SO CAN I ride in your new one...I wont drool on the Gelcoat....I promise.....:)
