Oh WOW Halo Benders are one of the best bands to ever be on this earth.. I love the Halo benders music. Nothing can compare to the pure goodness of this band. anyone who thinks otherwise should open their minds a little.

A good place to start for those interested in Beat Happening is of course You Tube or I-Tunes. For serious collectors, SUB POP records issued a beautiful box set with all five studio records, a seperate disc with singles and raritis, a DVD with videos and live perfomances, and a booklet with great oral histories and pictures. Other Calvin Johnson projects include (of course) Halo Benders with Doug and Steve Albini, and the funk danceband Dub Narcotic Sound System.

Wow. Calvin Johnson = "massive lack of talent." I'm amazed. Since you don't know: Calvin Johnson, founder of seminal indie-pop band Beat Happening and the record label K, is widely considered one of the most important and influential artists in underground music. His aesthetic is DIY, or "do-it yourself," and, despite his off-key voice, he started Beat Happening with friends who did not know how to play instruments, and created some of the most original and pretty pop ever!
