The Analog Tele-Phonographer (Version 1) is a sound amplifier for my cell phone / portable music player.

I made it from a broken trumpet and a fistful of scrap metal. The unit uses no external power or batteries, has no moving parts, and is entirely self-contained.

  • Very elegant.

  • @DoctorMelon Thank you!

  • My bubble's not burst. The concept goes a lot further back than a decade, and predates high schools, marching band, and even brass instruments. This idea is based on acoustic properties that were most likely implemented before written language. I never claimed to be the first to put this concept to use, and therefor have no bubble to burst. Thanks for the helpful words, though!

  • I was trying to do something like this with a Brunswick record player, but it had a wasp nest in it.

  • LOVE this! Please patent & start selling soon!

  • Are you interested in selling this? Or a version of this? Forget the bubble bursters....It's combining old technology with new and creating something stunning. I'm interested if you're looking or considering selling.

  • Not to burst your bubble, but every high school kid in marching band over the last decade has known how to do this.

  • Very steampunk. There is definitely a market for this if you decided to make more.

  • @grizzletoast I think there are people who simply live to hand out put-downs. Never mind that most of them are in their parents basement. Just a fact of life on the web and especially youtube.

  • Al Jarreau's "take five"...

  • @bobbie4 I don't.
