Well to be honest Super 8 film is inferior to DVD. Most Super 8 is mono (although stereo was introduced during the late 70s or early 80s), and early Super 8 suffered from poor quality transfers. I haven't actually screened a Super 8 film print in years now, and I doubt there's a collector's market for them.

Hay Top can you tell me some really good super 8 films that you recommend. Maybe you should name that as a dvd collection video?

Haha ConceptX - in fact I own a library of Super 8 sound film, as well as 16mm film and some 35mm ex-cinema theatrical films. Home movies were shot in Super 8 before the advent of VHS, but my interest was the pre-packaged movie excerpts introduced during the mid 70s. Later in the 70s full-length and editited features became available. All at a price. An 18 minute selected highlights edition was some NZ$60 (around US$40) and I was paying up to NZ$800 for a feature (around US$500).

Thanks for the update. I'm not sure but I think Super 8 film is dead now, taken over by Hi-Def digital cameras. In days past Super 8 was a good way to start filmmaking (before moving up to 16mm and finally 35mm). Even Peter Jackson started with Super 8.
For ease of use and immediate results you are better off with digital - no waiting for lab developing to find out whether the image is any good!

You've obviously been making films for a while. Was this Super 8? (I only ask because it's silent, and most Super 8 home movie cameras were silent).

No it was not shot in a super 8. It was shot on a little sony cam. I would love to make a filme with a super 8.
