Christmas is nearly upon us again, so, delving into the seasonal nostalgia from EXACTLY 29 years ago to the day (see the details regarding time of upload) we have some BBC1 evening continuity from Tuesday 9th December 1980: mirror globe ident, two showings of the station clock, a lovely Christmas films promo and the opening of the Nine O'Clock News with Angela Rippon. Regrettably, this was a sad time in the history of popular music, as the night prior to this was the murder of John Lennon. BBC1's schedule was changed this evening to reflect this, including a special edition of Nationwide with Frank Bough and Hugh Scully, and a change of film, HELP!, starring all four Beatles. The top story for the news was obviously details of this tragic event. ANY AND ALL COPYRIGHTS DUTIFULLY ACKNOWLEDGED.
The greatest times in human history destroyed by greed. Great clip.
