In this short excerpt, you'll also learn how the fundamental characteristic of the ego is based in resistance, and that the path to transcending the self and ultimately overcoming the ego is in surrender, the very meaning of Islam.

Through the Islamic spiritual path, also known as sufism, which is based in the principle of internal surrender, one can achieve freedom from the limited finite self, dissolve the ego, and awaken to the Divine Presence of God.

MASHA'ALLAH. This is good knowledge. Sometimes there are practices that works for a specific person. And meditation is a good thing. As long as it does not divert you away from ALLAH (SUBHANAWUTA'ALLAH), then take the good stuff and apply it on what you believe in like meditation and reminding one self of ALLAH (SWT) all the time. If you know your religion very well, and you understand what are the things you must only follow then you can get other knowledge that isn't against your belief.
