Whats sick is that this play directly followed a bogus penalty that took away a turnover for the SC defense. Its as if Clowney imposed his very willpower on even the refs as if to say "penalize that" and he himself scoops the ball up after the hit. Given the context this play should be up there with the Bo Jackson vs Boz run. Playing with clear intentions.

that and the right pulling guard was just not quick enough getting around, but of course Clowney was too fast and aggressive for that O line so thats why the hit happened.

Looks like the left tackle wanted to pitter patter and help the guard against the linebacker. didnt even give him a shoulder.

I remember this play. It was right after they gave Michigan a first down when the ball was clearly 7 to 8 inches behind the chains. And then we all know what happened next lol.

Clowney is the man. I love SC schools (primarily USC & Clemson) and I hate to see him go his senior year, but it's going to happen. Stay strong and healthy JC, and you will be very successful.

He didn't lead with his helmet...he wrapped his arms around the defender and hit helmet first, which is completely within the rule. The rule is you can't launch yourself at a defenseless player where your helmet hits first and you can't have helmet to helmet contact...neither of those occurred here so perfectly legal hit
