No room sound this time, just instruments recorded direct to Logic and synced to the video using Windows Movie Maker.

Keith would probably cringe if he heard me playing the exact synth solo from Welcome Back My Friends, but I got a couple requests for it so what the hell. If I ever play it live with a band I promise to improvise that section.

In memory of Aaron Copeland.

  • Still want to hear your origonal stuff! can't wait! Roy.

  • Thanks for reminding me. I'm working on a couple tunes for Presto Ballet at the moment but I should take time to video some of my finished "solo album" stuff.

  • Hey Kerry really good job on Hoedown. I have a Memory Moog Plus and MiniMoog. And am still trying to get that rise with the MemoryMoog self oscillating filter. I get close but no cigar. How did you get that w/ your equipment. Any help would be great. Hey Gregg said keys play 'em all with ease! That's also you Excellent performing. Bob

  • The sound is pitch evelopes on two oscillators and two other oscillators staying put.

  • I grew up and played in rock bands during this time. There have only been 2 keyboardists that I know that could duplicate Emerson's playing on this number--and you are definitely the BEST of the 2! I would be honored to play on the same stage with you. Keep up the fantastic work.

  • kixass :)

  • Incredible! Did you learn this by ear, or did you use Copland's sheet music as a starting point? I'm asking because I don't think you can find the ELP version transcribed anywhere, can you? Thanks and, again, great job!

  • Incredible job! You nailed it - and at the Milan 1973 tempo! KE has nothing on you - at least as far as this tune is concerned, anyway. Thanks for posting.

  • Perfect!

  • Dude, that rocked!!

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • Fantastic Kerry as usual. I would die a happy man if video of the whole of WBMFTTSTNE were to suddenly appear on Yuotube. Keep up the great work.

  • excellant !!

  • My God. If Keith Emerson died tomorrow, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer would use you to take over.

  • Beautiful! I love the WBMFTTSTNE live Hoedown synth solo. I guess mailny because I grew up listening to it over and over and over. I always imagined what it looked like to play it. Thanks for letting me see it! Great job!!

  • amazing, great, awesome - let me know when your cd becomes available

  • Sweet! Long time fan of ELP. Great job man. All your ELP is accurate man!

  • Awesome

  • Great cover of this tune. Can I ask you a question, I've been trying to get that envelope rise with my Arturia Modular Moog software, and I can't figure out for for the life of me how to patch this sound. How did you get it to work?

  • GOOD,GOOD! I HAD A MEMORY MOOG PLUS (CAN´T GET THE "ORIGINAL" SOUND) ,BUT KORG MS-10 DID D JOB.

REMEMBER WHEN I PLAYED TARKUS:MS-10 RULED!!!!!!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!

  • I IMPLORE YOU TO TAKE TOMITAS CROWN AND WRITE MUSIC FOR PLANET EARTH!!!! SAVE THE PLANET KEITH...

  • best one yet!!!! keep at it!

  • Very nice! This was off of "Trilogy", if I'm not mistaken? I'm a bit too lazy to rummage through my records. Great version; better than great. Tremedously great!

  • You are a sublime musician.

  • I have it. That's what I used for the sound at the end of Toccata.

  • Thanks, but lately I've got to much going on to bring ELP back to snuff. Have to stop putting off the original stuff.
