@cyanideisabitterpill Mao was worse. Tough yes he was a tyran... Hero and tyran in fact. People in USSR did not cry because they were forced to when he died. They cried for the death of the worlds biggest tyrant trough history (Before mao) because his tyrany made the country great. His tyranyti made them the best industrial power and a super power in strength.

@radiowavers Stalin was the reason Trotskji died... And he was totaly 100% Loyalist to the communist party. And especialy loyal to Lenin. I cant see the reason why Stalin wanted him dead besides from that he was a enemy.
Before he "died" Stalin said: There is nothing more pleasing than the humility or death of an enemy hated trough all time and finaly be able to sleep good at the nights.

He may have done heroic things, but he also caused so much pain. It's hard to just put him into categories as simple as hero and villain.

TRUTH ABOUT STALIN
(I am Historian, have master's degree on Russian history)
Comrade Stalin killed lot of traitors in Communist Party.
Bad people joined the party because they wanted to make career.
They searched "enemies of nation" and killed them - to earn reputation!
Example: Khrushchev killed thousands of innocent Ukraine people,
and wanted kill more, but Stalin send him letter with words "Stop that, idiot!"
After the death of Stalin, Khrushchev came to power and blamed Stalin for all crimes
