How to make smoother gear changes or gear switching on your motorbike by pre loading your gearstick and avoid making the gearbox bang. I am using my clutch when changing but if timed right, after 2nd gear, you don't need to on upshifts. This video may be slow but for those interested in improving their riding, it'll really help. Filmed using vio pov hd helmet cam on 1080p setting 25fps.

  • Nice boots, what are they? Alright in the wet? I'm Scottish :/

  • @Evillwar They're TCX X-Cube boots. Waterproof and that good I'm gonna buy another pair! :-D

  • @RoadcraftNottingham Thanks bud! Just passed my Mod 2 on Tuesday. Deposit down on a 2006 ER-6F, need some nice boots, they look comfy!

  • @Evillwar They are very comfy, They're like trainers with protection. You won't regret buying them.

  • I think what this video shows is that changing up through the gears smoothly is generally much easier than changing down smoothly.

  • @Crisisbiker Definately. Takes more timing to change down. Thanks

  • Thanks for taking the time to produce an upload this video, as a new rider you have made a massive difference to my ability and to my confidence. I'm still working on my downshifts but at least I am no longer passed by cyclists at the traffic lights !.

  • @HDTrooper good question. I was wondering the same thing! I bet his super hot british girlfriend rides on the back :P

(Please do not ruin this for me by saying that it is in fact your chubby friend Bill in the back, OK?)

PS: Darnit! Just read the thing about the instructor holding the camera himself... I think I'll discard that bit and imagine a hot blonde in back, if I may. Hmmmm.

  • @doolittle633 how about some knowledge of da English grammar? Unless you're jamaican, I guess... ;D

  • @michor10 Thanks, I'm not a policeman, I'm a motorcycle instructor.
