At the end of the universe, lies the beginning of vengance.

I remember seeing this movie with my dad back in 1982 and watching people openly weep in the theatre over the death of Mr. Spock.

I always thought, as a kid who watched EVERY episode and now an old man who has seen every movie (and enjoyed them all), this was the best score next to Jerry Goldsmiths' original.

@fatkinson2011 I think Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country should be included

I believe star trek's best theme is the motion picture theme then this.. But then I believe James Horner did a good job with the soundtrack on this and the search for Spock.. But cannot come close to Jerry Goldsmith

This and Star Trek IV are tied for the best IMHO.
First Contact was close behind.

the movie was so good that I bought it twice on VHS

I think The Wrath of Khan was briliant and heroic! It wasn't over flash on effects and concentrated on character, tension and pace. Also the music was excellent, dramatic and on point!!
Kirk: KHHHHHHAAAAANNNNNN!
Khan: WHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAATTTT!

The best piece in the entire Star Trek franchise, in my opinion.
