what about it fucking with your drill bit??? most of the time it's not smart to bend drill bits out of being straight. how about just grabbing some scrap bar stock to use. i would NEVER use this method using one of my drill bits, if anything that's is the most stupid thing i've ever heard of doing. have fun with your wobbly drill bits that wont drill precisely.

i put a small rare earth magnet on my drill press as my "key home" its easy to find, easy to use and it never gets lost! but this is a great solution should the earth stop spinning and my key fell off and got lost!

This method will NOT damage the teeth at all! In fact this method is less damaging than using the actual chuck key! I used this method MANY times and it has NEVER hurt the teeth in the slightest! Don't hesitate to use this method, it won't hurt you chuck in the slightest.
