  • I used tylose powder in MMF and it worked great, I used 6 teaspoons to a batch of it, and I bought my tylose powder off of ebay it is called Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose CMC I paid $10 for 2 lbs. so it is really cheap to buy it from their.

  • That is great that is worked for you, and thanks for sharing how much CMC powder which is the same as Tylose powder that you used in the MM fondant

  • is tylose same as gum-tex?

  • Yes they are pretty much very alike and achieve the same results from my experience!!

  • is gumpaste ok to eat? cuz i hear u can make certain things with it in the kitchen, and what does it taste like?

  • Gumpaste is edible, however it has a plain taste and most don't eat it because it can dry pretty hard.

  • Can you add tylose to already coloured fondant?

  • If you are looking for Tylose, you can find it on Ebay. Look for The Bakers Stop Cake Supplies.

  • random question lol but where did you get your blue mat?

  • thx alot! gonna buy gum-tex tomorrow and i'll start with m sugar flowers =D

  • you mentioned that tylose is pretty much the same as gum tex.... does that mean that in a gum paste recipe asking for tylose I can switch it for gum tex using the SAME measurements or does I have to use more or less?

  • im using fondant and using tylo, how do you store your characters. mine seem to sweat and go soft even after hardening when i leave them in a room to dry, what am i doing wrong?

    many thanks
