http://www.lockergnome.com/android/2012/01/24/programmers-perspective-how-and... - One of the chief arguments against Android and in favor of iOS in today's mobile OS battle can be simplified to one word: fragmentation. You can see that word thrown all over the place, usually padding walls of text written by an iOS fanboy who probably hasn't the slightest clue what fragmentation really is. Isn't that the problem with everything, though? People don't know what they're talking about. Here's a programmer's perspective on how Android's fragmentation can actually be a good thing.

  • I like Android and iOS.

  • I love how geeks tend to stick to one type of platform. Look at me, I have a Mac, I have a Packard Bell laptop with Ubuntu and Windows, a Samsung Galaxy S, and an iPod touch. I've got the majority covered :') I LOVE ALL, THAT IS IMPORTANT!

  • did u mean frag ? don't really get it !

  • Coffee shops and Sub restaurants have gotten most of my business.

But, all the other fast food joints, have not had my business for a half decade, lol. Screw you McDonalds, hehe.

and you KNOW family restaurants are filled with more heart attack ingredients than McDonalds.

  • @CrewRite

Actually, considering you're using a Google product it's still 100% ironic.

You're just like a fatass at McDonalds in your eyes. You KNOW it's wrong, you KNOW the food is terrible for you but you just keep eating.

  • @BaillieMinecraft

FYI, compared to other tube sites, there's 1.2 billion+ people using YouTube. This is the only Google service I use. 10% ironic to be exact.

If YouTube ever gets a competitor at the billion mark, I'm switching.

  • @CrewRite

What's unbelievably stupid and ironic about your comment again is that if what you're saying is true Google is currently stealing your information as we speak. Considering you're on a Google site right now.

  • @ShadowriverUB

Ahh, problem is they do, even if it is OpenSource. Google is sneaky about stealing info, that includes beyond their service sites sadly. Microsoft and many other companies have already proven it.

  • @elisha311 Actully no :> You only get windows from same boxes and even laptop OEMs does not mess with the system as they do with Android. Want to see true fragmentation on PC? Check Linux, it so fragmented that people consider distributions as different OSes, ignoring the fact that all of them runs same software and can run same binaries.

  • @KaegonTheGamer iCloud is free and it also provide APIs to store documents in cloud (thru free document software is a problem). iCloud also provide you email too

  • @CrewRite Both android and chrome are open-source, if they steal your data without your premission it would be visible

  • @ShadowriverUB

No, because Google built the OS and the policies for the OS are flimsy. Same goes for Chrome.
