Hamed's 36th bout the IBO Featherweight Title
(Age 27 Fights 35 Won 35 Lost 0 Drawn 0)
vs. Marco Antonio Barrera from Jalisco, Mexico
(Age 27 Fights 56 Won 53 Lost 3 Drawn 0)
Apr. 7 2001
loc. MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Hamed should never have left Brendan Ingle.
Manny Steward the ''legendary'' trainer was not satisfied with Hamed's performance at the end of the training-camp but had successfully changed Hamed's style which led The Prince straight to his only defeat of his professional career.
Hamed showed his worst performance ever during this bout. But barerra's boxing was not much better, the mexican boxed controlled and won the bout by only 3 points with the score of 115-112 by an unanimous decision.
The myth that Hamed is unbeatable was destroyed, which broke something in the soul of this untouchable boxer.
Many think barerra should have been disqualified beacause of his acts in the last round when he forced Hamed into the corner. barerra really showed what kind of ''champion'' he was.
Hamed returned in 2002 for one last bout before giving up his career ,though officially he never announced his retirement.
The world of boxing had to say farewell to this fantastic 3 time worldchampion fighter whose unique, spectacular and aggressive style always guaranteed entertainment and excitement for the audience.
The Bout starts at 33:50 as well the video contains the Built-up,Interviews,the Entrance & the Post Fight Analysis.

  • i'm sick of this old bastard.

about "bring in the clown" fucking scumbag

  • @shoulderollHD among other things ''such manifestations'' also helped Hamed at becoming world-famous ;)

  • If Hamed fought like this against any of his previous HBO opponents I believe he would've got beaten in the same fashion. It was obvious the Hamed that showed up for this fight was completely different. He rarely threw even a two punch combination. Even in the Sanchez fight, Hamed was way more aggressive and threw way more punches.

  • @kbvilla This Hamed was a completely different boxer, if it's not obvious to the public then that public never knew who Naz really was..

  • Prince Naseem a great boxer, he didnt get knocked out by barrera he lost, so what, all great boxers lose and come back, naseem personally coulve fought for another 10 years he was young, but left the sport, if anyone disses his faith, you people are very stupid, show some respect. A featherweight legend, who will never be forgotten from my mind.
