Me too! This has got to be the scariest PIF ever for me. I think what makes it especially sinister is that bit of tape delay on the VO when he says "will one of them be YOUR child?" and the fact that there's no famous faces in it , unlike most PIFs. If it was made today it wouldn't surprise me if union rules stated that the kid would have to be played by a blind actor.

Hmm whilst it ranks high I think the firework warning PIF that had the most impact on me was the one where an ominous voice over gave you the usual spiel about firework safety then ended with the words "So many number of children will be blinded by fireworks this year.... Vist any Casualty Dept on November the 5th, AND YOU'LL WISH YOU WAS TOO.!"

This was the scariest of the lot and there was some competition.All the kids nowadays love horror films,well we didn't have a choice.The PIF's from late 70's n early 80's were scarier than any films.God even now I shiver when I watch this.Thanks for opportunity though,I'm gonna make my kids watch this and a few of the others because one thing about them...they hit the spot and did their job!

its surprising how many people are terrified of this ad and how many remember it.for years i was terrified of anyone blind thanks to that one image of those blind kids in the field,and now at 37 i had to scroll the page down so i could hear but not see this!

This is the most terrifying thing I have ever seen-even now I have to stop it after 3 secs. Play Safe and Dark a Waters is bad enough but this.........

I remember this ad and also being terrified, I always hoped I'd never walk into that unknown field by mistake on a summers day to the sight of all of those blinded children. As you can see I wanted to relive all those traumatic memories once again so I located this ad and here I am writing my thoughts.
