I remember this show, somewhat. I would tell people about a kid's show that had a character that resembled, to me, H.R. Puffenstuff,and it wore a hat. I also remembered that it was walking by a big tree, on the set. Well, looking at these clips, I've found what I was talking about. Its amazing what your brain hangs on to when you're 5 yrs old.

This clip needs to be put into a video editor for color correction. It has a red tinge due to the aging process of film.

I used to watch this when I was in kindergarten on Saturday mornings. I recently got to meet Pamelyn Ferdin (girl in pigtails) and she signed a Curiosity Shop print for me and took a photo w/ me as well. I remember at the end of every show she'd say: "Good-bye Mr. Jones, wherever you are." I wish this was out on DVD.

You sure it was the hippo in this show or the one on Captain Kangaroo? That one was brightly colored and never really did anything but dance around.
