Mopar 340 4 barrel 0-60 run

7 seconds is pretty good for my 2.94 rear end and my heavy flippin car! My old 318 took 14 seconds to get to 60!!! now its cut in half thanks to my 340 4 barrel :) il do another one when i get my 3.55 rear end.

That 340 was ment to tach alot higher than yours is.

The 340 was meant to shift at 6000 rpms. . .

@o56kid Well the engine was not stock for my car. The rear end is set up for a 318 still and i am upgrading to a 3.91 posi. and it doesnt have a tach on it in this vid.

Good God did the stock 318 really only do 0-60 in 14 seconds? I thought my V-6 Buick was the slowest thing in the world at 12.5

@GMdrivingMOPARguy yea it was crazy! it was the first year they downgraded the 318 to a 155 hp which kind of sucked.

@o56kid depends...if he built the engine to looser tollerances, it wont rev as high (it will, but come appart).

also, larger moving parts means it wont rev as high. my heads on my 400 SBC stop flowing at like 4200 RPM or some low number, however i go over that becaue i built it to tight tollerances.

a tiny RC car engine can go to liek 16,000 Rpm

Wow that thing is slow after 50. Your 1/4 mile will probably be in the high 14s at best.

What happened to those cool rectangle speedometers? Nowadays, we have the boring circles and Honda and toyota's weird 2 tier thing.... There should be a car company that makes retro-looking cars!

With the 2.91 gears you should have never even hit second gear!!!!!!

340 Nice motor. Will an M1 intake manifold fit that? The 318 my Durango had was built up but it was the 318 Magnum not the LA which your 340 is I believe. Still though, for a heavy ass car not bad at all. Keep up the good work. On a side note, check my channel sometime and check out my hemi ram and my buddie's 74 charger. We're droppin' a 440 in it
