Annual tribute to remember the tens of millions of Africans who, after being kidnapped from their homeland, died during the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. The Middle Passage. The Atlantic Ocean become the largest African burial ground in the world. An estimated 100 million to 200 million Africans were lost at sea over a 400 year period.

It is held from 12 noon to sunset on the Coney Island Boardwalk at West 16th Street (Ancestor's Circle) in Brooklyn.

It is recommended that you wear white, bring flowers for the Ancestral Offering and an African musical instrument.
