Mat Work Before Medicine

This video was taken Fall 2010. In it, Maisy is doing mat work around distractions in her reactive dog class. Incidentally, we were pushing harder than we should have because we wanted to get some video of how she acted. As you can see, she is vigilant and anxious, and has trouble recovering when stressed.

This video, along with behavior logs and a consultation with a veterinary behaviorist, led to a diagnosis of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Maisy began taking paroxetine (Paxil) in October 2010 as a result. Please see her "Mat Work After Medicine" video to see how the combination of medication and behavior modification has helped her.
