He says they'll continue their lives as if nothing has happened so Jamie might be killed the next day... It's such a horrible ending, particularly seeing Zoe smiling and saying she's forgotten something important... People made a big deal out of it when it happened to Donna, but The War Games did it first.

*sniff*This always makes me sad. What is so sweet is he says good-bye to Jamie first because they've travel together the longest. "I won't forget you, you know." He sounds like he's going to cry. What I like is that the Time Lords say they both will live out their lives. It means Jamie survives the war! YAY!

@Mathiastro Really? How did the Doctor supposedly stop being mysterious? There are still lots of things we don't know about him, and he's still mysterious enough.  The only thing that has changed is that we know more about the Time Lords, but of course, knowing more about the Time Lords doesn't mean knowing more about the Doctor.

The saddest thing for me when I first saw this was that while Zoe will remember Jamie he won't remember her... or Victoria for that matter. Throughout the series it was obvious he cared very deeply about both of them.

I love the acting in this. The Doctor knows right from the start that he cant escape.

@Bobsyermomsuncle I think Donna will grow. She has, according to her Grandfather, a loving, supportive husband. That can help. And Money helps too. She can travel around the planet. But yeah-- Jamie on the battlefield...just because that one soldier missed. But I think in some canon, Jamie grows old and has kids.

@Bobsyermomsuncle But Donna is still the same person she was before she met the Doctor, no matter how much money she has. At least Rose is now a better person, but Donna is back to the gossipy insecure person she was before meeting the Doctor. She had just gained confidence in herself and now she'll never get it back, even though she saved the universe.
