No, not really. It's kinda heavy, and the round it shoots is more like a carbine round. It's very prone to over-penetrating. Also, it isn't the safest handgun in the world. It's not "drop safe", and it has a pretty deafining muzzle blast/concussion. It's really a great war-fighting handgun. But not so great as a self-defense firearm. Maybe if someone started making some decent modern JHP ammo for it, that would change.

You don't have to shoot like Jerry Miculek when you are shooting a rifle cartridge out of a handgun. That CZ-52 shoots an 85 grain bullet twice as fast as a .32ACP. And we all know how potent the .32ACP is. Perhaps there should be more .32ACP action at these zombie shoots. Maybe then you'll have fewer friends being devoured by the un-dead.

@Mauser2012 If you want a cheap gun to conceal carry you should get a CZ-82 their chambered in 9x18 makarov and its C&R eligible and only 200 dollars usually. The CZ-83 is twice the cash but are newly built and you can get them in .380 ACP or .32 ACP. Oh yeah and the mags are 12 round double stacks, this CZ-52 in the video is a single stack 6 or 7 rounds I think.

Go back to playing video games. It is amazing how cocky people get when they know it is all over the internet and you will never see the people you are slamming face to face. You could be some 12 year old girl that has never even shot a real gun as far as I know.

i've found with mine, after every 3rd round, the barrel locks, not mattered with what ammo i use or what mags i use. my fater has the same pistol, but doesn't have the same problem. kinda figured out it is the rollers... will order and replace asap. i hope that's all it is. also there's a vid online somewhere with this pistol penetrating through broth sides of a modern kevlar helmet at around 30 yards. pretty amazing...
