I live in the uk play basketball and studying physiotherapist at university. Our coach assigned me as captain of the team basically because of my top performance since I started collage last year and all the guy are mad at me and the majority is white am on the only black guy on the team. So am thinking of Quitting cuz am gonna lose all my friends I haven't had friends since I immigrated from jamaica but I go there every summer. I Have always seemed not to fit in.

@KYCTellEM what ever you don't QUIT, that's what they want you to do.

it shows their own insecurities do not feed in to it, you got the position because you were worthy and deserve it. if you quit, you will regret it in the long run, these so called friends are not friends, they are mearly associate learn the difference!

i'm a black female in the I/T field, so trust me i know about sticking out and not fitting in lol.

YEESSSSS! I have a friend that's mad at me because she called me and asked me if i had a POLO shirt, but i had been calling her for like a week straight, i was really trien to reach out to her and i had gotten no response, so when she called me with that BULL SHIT! I said "Get off my line" and hung up! Then i have ANOTHER friend who acts like she dont know how to put her little "Dudes" in line when they being disrespectful toward me about my Sexuality! So now im friendless... Lol

as long as you know who you are and you are secure with in yourself that is all that matters. i'm basically friendless as well and honestly iv'e never felt more at peace. as long as have my brothers, mom, sons and my 2 besties i'm good.

A lack of empathy and an envious state of mind are what alot of people now a days are afflicted with. Take yourself out of your own positions and mindset to view things from another perspective. Everyday I get home I try to set aside 10-15min for self reflection on the days events. Helps you sometimes see where you may have made a mistake or misjudgement to self correct.

Honestly, I love my closest friends to death. They're like a family to me! However, the ones who sometimes don't feel so supportive is my own family. For example, after searching for almost a month, I got a job! A minimum wage job but a job nonetheless but I'm working part time so I'm raking in a decent amount.
