Exposing how some Messianic Jews claim to be following "Biblical" Judaism and NOT "Rabbinic" Judaism, but in fact when you take a closer look you'll see that their ritual practices are an adoption of "Rabbinic" tradition.

  • The argument is not logical against Messianics. If the Rabbis are following Torah and they came to the conclusions of the Etrog, and Tallit, Then why couldn't someone who is following Torah accept the same conclusions. They are expressions of Torah in some way or another. A Messianic doesn't need to find another beautiful fruit if the Etrog does not violate their interpretation of Torah. What they mean by rejecting Rabbinic Judaism is to say where the Rabbis seem to be violating Torah.

  • @messianictorah It seems that it's not clear in the video. The arguement "I follow the BIBLE not the Rabbi's" is often disingenuous. Most messianics that wear a talit and tzitzit that are tied exactly as the Rabbi prescribe or light shabbat candles which is NOT in the Torah etc, are playing both sides. In effect they are saying we think that Judaism is beautiful and correct and even brings you closer to G-d, but it's a pity that the Rabbi's are so corrupt and evil by denying the Gospel.

  • actually tzitzit is biblical judaism.... numbers 15. Maybe I just misunderstood what you were saying.

  • @MONEYISPOSSIBLE How to tie them is not spelled out in the Bible. We tie them as prescribed by the Rabbis.

The tzitzit and talit that are worn by messianics are exactly as instructed by the Rabbis

  • I'm a Torah pursuant believer in Yeshua and I see that what this man is saying is the TRUTH!

  • Actually, as a former frumnik, totally sold out to Jesus I must correct a few things. Not all Jewish believers are trying to pass themselves as followers of Judaism. Some of us (myself included), understand that the New Testament does not support the following of Judaism, but a new faith. We maintain a strong Jewish identity, while we stay true to G-d.

  • @laurenoliver23 To say Messianic Jews are not hypocrites would not make sense. I have far less of a problem with a Jew who converts to Christianity (and I'm not saying Jews should do that) than I do with a Messianic Jew. The reason you see groups like these is because they want to believe in Jesus, but they can't let go of their Jewishness. That should prove something is wrong. They also claim they are persecuted by Orthodox Jews, but I've seen Messianic Jews rudely push Orthodox Jews away.

  • @wufpackjack well said. I believe Yahshua did preach against following man made doctrine. I'm nobody, I'm not Jewish but I'm ex-Christian and my beliefs tie in very closely to some gnostic Judaism so that being said I understand Yahshua was a Jew who fulfilled the law so if I were to pick a symbol it might be a star of David as opposed to a cross. I'm simple. I know nothing about rabbinic symbols of Judaism and I didn't realize it was a requirement and even so He dwells in my temple. g-d bless.

  • We need to do an study on the scriptures "NOT DEFENDING RELIGIONS" but SEEKING for the TRUE , JUSTICE , PEACE and HAPPINESS which all we want to have in our life... this is not a matter of PHILOSOPHY ; RELIGION ; POLITICS ; TRADITION ; PERSONAL OPINION .. This is about Humankind . and We know God created the world and as the creator HE had to come down to fix up everything down but BEGINNING in our very FOUNDATION which is OUR HEARTS. what WE NEED IS A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD not RELIGION

  • Shalom, I agree some Messianics become almost wannabe Jews or lost Christians looking for an exciting flare. But most Messianics who would say they reject Rabbinic Judaism may tie their own tzit tzit and may come to wear a headcovering for different reasons. I thought wearing a headcovering was both Jewish and not Torah based and considered Messianics that did so posers. But after a study in tzit tzit I decided I wanted to wear a headcovering.

  • You make an interesting point about blending Rabbinic Judaism and Christianity. But is it wrong to voluntarily follow some Rabbinic traditions w/o accepting Rabbinic authority? I don't think so. Good ideas can come from many sources (consider the Genetic Fallacy) - it seems to me one is free to chew the meat and spit out the bones. Messianics should be careful not to be deceptive though - I think that was your point and I agree with that point. G-d bless.

  • @seekermike007 The "two aspects" are mainly the two different ways they are seen. Christians see a divine man-god. Jews see a fully human leader king who will bring about world peace among other things. The "lamb" is a christianized version of a pagan custom of sacrifice of a perfect creature, in this case a man (human sacrifice was forbidden to Jews) for atonement of others sins. The suffering servant is Israel - not Jesus.
