A topical film from our archive of a tour train that visited Thurso Station in late summer 2007. The station buildings were built by my great-great grandfather, George Manson of Whitefield, Murkle so the place has a special appeal for Picture House Cinema. Seen in this film are engines, Defience (50049) and East Lancashire Railway (40145) hauling mixed livery stock to Thurso, the most nerthernly station on the U.K network. You will no doubt enjoy the sound of the Class 40 starting up.
Moi Mum, born in Thurso, joined WRAF in '50's and visited in '90's. I ain't been back since '64, when I was a pup. Love.
