Galactic cosmic rays are partices emitted by the sun - they enter the atmosphere and pass through us from all angles. This piano is fitted with a sensor that detects passing cosmic rays and triggers the keyboard - what we hear is almost literally music of the spheres. It sounds a lot like Messiaen, as this short extract shows.
