Thk u 4 this! To everyone who's dealing w/ any form of Alzheimer's: music stays in parts of the brain that are not affected by Alzh's for most, if not all, of the disease's run. My brother plays the piano at my mom's nursing home, & ALL the patients come to life when he plays. There's a great TV show from PBS abt music & the brain: "Musical Minds", PBS' "Nova" series. See it if u can. If you're dealing with Alzh's at all, it's well worth the purchase price if you can't catch it on TV at all.

It was very moving yet uplifting as well. It becomes the whole family's affair for sure! I know that, because I've been making a film about my own mum since September last year and she was officially diagnosed as Alzheimer's Disease on May 18, this year. Keep rolling!

This video is so touching. The love that is shared by this family is a beautiful thing to witness. Hugh's wife is right... the music really seems to hit a "primal" place in him.

My god, when I heard "All Shook Up" by Elvis Presley come on, my jaw hit the floor! My girlfriend's father, Gary, has EOA at 56 and loved Elvis all through his life and he comes to life just as Hugh does when you play the songs. It just shows you how powerful music is for the mind and soul. God bless you, Hugh. Poor Gary has been talking to voices in his head for weeks.He believes friends and dead relatives are on their way to pick him up and gets aggressive to be let out to recieve his "guests"

I love you Hugh. My Chuck is 53 and music is our connection. He might be in his own world but I put a slow song on and we slow dance, a fast song on and we boggie. It will continue to be the tie that binds us. Thank you so much.

I was so touched by this film! Specially the moment when you see Hugh come to live the moment he hears music. You see it in his eyes. The same with my mother who is also a young alzheimers patient. Her eyes shine when she hears any kind of music. Beautiful document. Thanx!
