  • That's Isaac Newton appearing at 4:26, is it not ? Not sure I see the connection...

  • @neLLykOOk911 yes he is. well, he's a contemporary to bach and one of the most significant figures of the age of enlightenment. and given that bach's music requires (or enjoys) a certain level of mathematical understanding, i guess that's quite fitting. and it's my theory anyway :)

  • @jormundgard I suck at math but I love Bach...

  • @roman1akid you don't need get the math to love the music. that's the beauty of it.

  • @jormundgard Enjoyment, and even the intellectual enjoyment of music is not at all facilitated by mathematical efficiency.

  • @Nutterbutterz95 "to enjoy": to occupy or have the benefit of

I was talking about the Enlightenment view of creating art. That may not be true for the present day or may even vary depending on the audience. What you are saying is totally irrelevant and subjective, you "enjoy" what you enjoy. To add to that, Bach, in my opinion, was probably a man who would not give a flying fish about what people call "artistic inspiration". He considered himself a humble labourer of music.

  • @grrmonkey I do not believe it is too fast at all

  • @Joshuajlawn if it wasn't technically sophisticated it might as well be commonplace and boring

  • @jormundgard I quite agree with you and I appreciate your interpretation in this regard

  • I think between this, Air on G string, are probably my favorite pieces. I love the fact that Bachs music is highly technical, yet extremly enjoyable to listen to.

I'd say Bach, is my favorite Baroque composer, and possibly my favorite Classical composer in general.

  • @jormundgard I agree, Bach is amazing.
