As of Friday May 30, 2008, Dr. Neil Frank has retired from KHOU Channel 11 in Houston. He joined Houston's CBS affiliate in 1987 and stayed for over 20 years. Prior to working at KHOU, Frank ran the National Hurricane Center in Miami, FL, making him the person Houstonians trusted for hurricane coverage, hands down. KHOU's new Chief Meteorologist is Gene Norman, who joins the station from WGCL in Atlanta.

  • I grew up on Docs forecasts. i remember when he first came to Houston! Good Luck Doc!

  • It seems that life in Houston would be somewhat melancholy without Dr. Neil and his deadeye weathercasts (ok everyone misses here and there). And I live in Mobile! We'll miss you Dr. Neil! But come by the ational scene, on CBS everynow and then, to show the world how it's done. And good luck to Mr. Norman. You got Dr. Neil's endorsement, and as Paul Boesch used to say, "Mr. Norman is the man you can trust."

  • Dr. Frank is a national treasure. I have roots in Houston and Wichita and I can relate to his straight forward and accurate approach to the weather...especially hurricanes. I went thrugh several on the Texas coast includin Carla and Alicia.

Neil, it would be great to see you on CBS when the during the Hurricane season... you still have it.

    Best of luck

A Texan and a Kansan in Wichita

    Ken
