Kid's lucky the cat didn't Claw or bite at its true potential, he'd really be crying then. I don't blame the cat or the kid, I blame the parents. Poor cat, could've been choked or strangled.

you can NOT force a cat and its wrong to allow a child to manhandle a pet the parents should have supervised this better. That must have been a VERY sweet cat because most cats would have hissed and bitten MUCH harder after a split second of such behavior
cats dont ever want to be cornered or held down its cruel and agressive behavior and they view this as agression

Lesson learned. Never strangle a cat unless it wishes so. Cats are in command, little kids need to learn to obey. Or at least learn that the universe doesn't revolve around them all of the time.
