Asylum After the Storm: Mental Illness in a Post-Katrina New Orleans.
A series of portraits and audio of those living with the many different
degrees of mental health issues in a city where the mental health care
system has imploded. These are New Orleans most vulnerable citizens,
and organizations such as the NOPD Crisis Unit, the NOPD Homeless
Unit, Unity of Greater New Orleans, and EMS staff and health care workers
come to their rescue every day, putting these people first, caring for them
and being their voice and advocates.
